Privacy built into reliable infrastructure
Uptenza processes the information needed to operate monitoring, alerting, integrations, incident workflows, billing, and support. We aim to collect only what is useful for those purposes and to explain our practices in plain language.
1. Scope of this Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Uptenza website, account areas, infrastructure monitoring platform, documentation, contact forms, and related services that link to this Policy. It does not apply to third-party websites, integrations, or systems that you connect to Uptenza; those providers have their own privacy practices.
For customer workspaces, Uptenza generally processes workspace and monitoring information on behalf of the customer. The customer is responsible for deciding what systems and information to monitor and for providing any notices required to the people whose data they control.
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you interact with Uptenza, we may collect the following categories:
Account and contact data
Name, work email, company, role, login details, workspace membership, support messages, and preferences.
Billing data
Plan, subscription status, invoices, transaction references, and billing contact details. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider where applicable.
Technical data
IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, approximate location, timestamps, referrers, and security or diagnostic logs.
Workspace data
Monitored URLs, domains, servers, APIs, checks, response results, alert rules, incidents, integration settings, and team activity.
We do not ask you to submit sensitive personal information. Please avoid placing passwords, private keys, health information, or other sensitive data in monitoring names, alert messages, incident notes, or support requests.
3. How we use data
We use information to:
- Create and secure accounts, workspaces, teams, and authentication sessions.
- Run website, server, API, SSL, domain, regional, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Generate dashboards, reports, alerts, notifications, incidents, and performance history.
- Connect approved integrations and deliver messages through selected notification channels.
- Process subscriptions, payments, invoices, trials, plan limits, and customer support.
- Maintain reliability, troubleshoot issues, detect abuse, prevent fraud, and protect the platform.
- Understand product usage, improve features, and communicate service, security, or account updates.
- Meet legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and establish or defend legal claims.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on an appropriate legal basis such as performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, pursuing legitimate interests, or obtaining consent. You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
4. Monitoring data
When you configure Uptenza to monitor a website, server, API, cloud resource, or other endpoint, the platform may process network and operational information such as availability, status codes, response times, certificates, resource metrics, logs or check results, alert state, and incident history.
Monitoring data belongs to the customer who configured the workspace, subject to the rights needed for Uptenza to provide and secure the service. We use it to execute checks, evaluate conditions, send notifications, maintain history, display dashboards, and support incident investigation. Monitoring may involve third-party hosting, network, notification, or integration providers selected by you or required to operate the service.
Uptenza is not intended to inspect the content of private communications or collect more information than necessary to perform a configured check. Review your target systems and check payloads before enabling monitoring.
6. Data retention
We retain personal data and workspace information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods for monitoring results, logs, incidents, backups, and audit records may depend on your plan, configuration, and operational requirements.
When an account or workspace is closed, we may delete or anonymize information according to our deletion and backup cycles. Some information may remain where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, logging, monitoring, backups, and secure development practices.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using strong credentials, protecting API keys and integration tokens, limiting workspace permissions, and notifying us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
9. International transfers
Uptenza and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use appropriate mechanisms such as contractual protections, adequacy decisions, or other recognized safeguards. Contact us if you need more information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
10. Your privacy choices
Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. You may also opt out of marketing communications by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.
To make a request, email privacy@uptenza.com with enough detail for us to understand your request. We may need to verify your identity and authority to protect account information. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain why where the law permits. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Children
Uptenza is a business and infrastructure service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in a way that violates applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when our services, data practices, or legal obligations change. We will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the website, product, or email. Your continued use of Uptenza after an update takes effect means you acknowledge the revised Policy.
